Northern short-tailed shrew
The northern short-tailed shrew is one of the only venomous mammals we know. These red-toothed freaks are part of the Blarina genus and native to the North-Eastern United States and South-Western Canada.
According to science nerds (insert citation here), NST shrews measure 108 to 140 mm lengthwise, of which 18 to 32 mm (0.71 to 1.26 in) is tail; and weigh 15 to 30 grams.
